Your tasks

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented TD/Developer to oversee and advance the day-to-day operations of our Editorial and I/O departments. This requires strong communication and collaboration with all departments and a strong understanding of the full I/O process from ingestion through conversion to QC and publishing. The ideal candidate is also able to improve and automate existing processes by writing useful tools in bash and Python. 

Your Role
  • Implementation of tools and workflows as requested by Production, CG and Pipeline
  • Improvement and extension of existing applications like RV or Hiero
  • Help to deliver stereo packages, minicomps, and final edits to the client
  • Convert file formats while identifying and maintaining correct color spaces
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the current review, ingestion, and delivery process
  • Collaborate with IT to properly archive and restore production data as needed
  • Collaborate with IT to automate workflows for incoming and outgoing packages
  • Monitor the transfer server storage usage
  • Oversee and maintain the creation and deletion of shots and data in general on ftrack


Must haves
  • An extraordinary amount of attention to detail
  • Fluency in Linux, Bash, Python, and PyQt/PySide
  • A strong understanding of cameras, lenses and formats
  • Deep knowledge of color management using OCIO and ACES
  • Familiarity with the VFX editing process using tools like Avid, Hiero or similar
  • Digital Camera and VFX file formats
  • Practical experience with file transfer protocols such as FTP and Signiant and their respective clients
Nice to haves
  • Experience using Ftrack, Shotgun, or similar production management software
Applicants will be able to work from home or at one of our offices in Munich and Berlin. We expect applicants to be based in Germany or have a valid work permit to work in Germany and are planning on moving to Germany.
